Great Rail Journeys has updated its travel insurance policy to give customers Covid-19 cover as standard, with no increase in the price of the policy.
The insurance from the escorted rail holiday provider now covers customers who can’t travel due to contracting Covid-19 and provides medical cover and repatriation if they fall ill on holiday.
It claims the new cover is one of the most comprehensive on the market and provides reassurance for those that may be feeling worried about travelling.
Its launch follows a consumer survey that found 52% felt very concerned their travel insurance would not cover Covid-19.
More than 4,500 people took part in the survey conducted by Great Rail Journeys, which investigated travel preferences in response to the pandemic.
Great Rail Journeys also has a new flexible booking offer, so those booking before the end of October can move their holiday to a new departure date in 2021 free of charge.
Peter Liney, chief executive of Great Rail Journeys, said: “The current period is incredibly challenging for customers and we want to do everything possible to ensure that people can book confidently and with peace of mind.
“We believe the new travel insurance cover we are offering is among the best on the market.”
