The Travel Network Group has trumped its consortia rival Advantage by being ready to act as a Flight-Plus approved body providing Atol cover for members.
The new parent company name for TTA, Worldchoice, and Independent Travel Experts, announced today that it is ready now – more than two months ahead of the Government’s deadline of January 1, 2012.
Advantage Travel Centres admitted on Monday that it will not be ready and the Advantage Atol will not apply to all Flight-Plus sales.
The Department for Transport has insisted on January 1 as the start date for Flight-Plus and other changes to the Atol scheme that will see licensing extended to retailers selling dynamically packaged holidays.
The Travel Network Group operations director Gary Lewis said: “We know how important this is for members, so have been working on getting all the systems and processes in place in good time before the deadline of January 1.
“We can also appreciate that there are many agents out there who need help in this area, and we are here to help them.”
