All Leisure Holidays (ALH) has been rewarded £2 million by the underwriters of insurance provider IPP.
The case arose when the cruise group bought the Hebridean Princess in 2009 from administrators.
The group agreed that passengers with existing bookings would be offered a replacement cruise as long as they made a claim under ALH’s insurance policy with IPP.
Customers were not asked to pay again. However, IPP refused to pay out and ALH took the matter to court.
At the High Court of Justice today, Mr Justice Teare approved ALH’s £2 million claim in full.
Chairman Roger Allard said: “The verdict demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our customers. I feel satisfied that the judgment has at last been made, despite our wish to bring the issue to a close with the underwriters in 2009.
“Passengers and the trade remain our priority and continue to be the focus of all trading decisions going forward.”
