Palladium Hotel Group has thanked the UK trade for support during the pandemic as it hopes to recoup lost business from the autumn in the Caribbean.
The Spanish hotel chain is preparing for the winter sun season with the re-opening of properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
The group’s four hotels in the Mexican Riviera Maya will be open from October 2 – the five-star, family-friendly Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa, as well as the five-star, adults-only TRS Yucatan Hotel.
The four all-inclusive properties sit next to each other on Caribbean coastline.
Properties in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic will follow on November 19 – Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Bavaro Suites Resort & Spa, Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino and the adults-only TRS Turquesa Hotel.
Commercial director Nacho Gozalbo said: “We appreciate the challenges that we have all been facing recently and particularly those faced by the retail travel trade.
“We know that the evolution of the pandemic has put a huge amount of pressure on the travel industry both in Spain and in the United Kingdom but we feel confident that we can all recoup some of the losses this year over the winter period with bookings to the Caribbean.
“Of course, we continue to monitor the travel regulations in our key source markets, such as in the UK and we hope progress is made soon with regards to travel restrictions and quarantines.
“We would like to thank our UK agents for continuing to support us during these challenging times and we look forward to organising more agent events in the UK and hosting more UK agents on Palladium fam trips, as soon as we are able.”
