Carnival Cruise Line has created an eight-part online certification programme for travel agents.

The sales-focused series is called FUNdamentals of Successful Selling and has been designed to enhance sales skills and develop marketing strategies.

Modules focus on topics including use of social media, hosting ‘virtual cruise parties’, developing client relationships, building personal brands and engaging in ongoing education.

A final course, Keys to Sales Success Today, will be hosted by Adolfo Perez, senior vice-president of global sales and trade marketing, and members of Carnival’s sales leadership team.

Perez said: “These are unique times and therefore we created FUNdamentals of Successful Selling as a way to tap into the vast knowledge of our highly-talented sales force to help agents from agency model connect with their clients to expand both their short and long-term business.”

Agents who complete the programme and complete a short test will receive a certificate and a logo that can be used online and in marketing materials.

The programme will be available to all agents from October 1 at, with sessions available live and on-demand.
