n Hotel group in US management deal



Millennium and Copthorne Hotels is to buy 11 hotels and acquire management control of 16 others, following a deal struck with Regal Hotels International of Hong Kong. All the hotels are in the US, except the Regal Constellation Hotel in Toronto, Canada.



The transaction is thought to be worth £452m.



n agents offered 5% deal by leading hotels



Leading Hotels of the World is offering travel agents 5% in override commission if they book a suite in any of its 315 hotels during September. The deal covers arrivals up to December 23.



n accountancy firm acquired by levy gee



Travel industry specialist accountancy firm Wagner and Partners has been acquired by Levy Gee for an undisclosed sum. Wagner’s joint senior partner Colin Segal said the move would mean it could provide a better service for its existing 100 clients. The deal will also allow the



company to expand its



business.



n uk tour for south pacific delegation



A delegation of tourism and travel industry representatives from 13 South Pacific destinations is visiting the UK for a three-week programme of seminars and roadshows. Stops include London, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and Bath.



n fall in profits for queens moat houses



Queens Moat Houses has reported a slight fall in profit before exceptional items and tax to £13.6m in the half-year ending July 4 1999. This compares to £14.7m in the six months to June 28 1998. Turnover rose by 3% to £186.4m. The 1998 figures have been restated to take account of the change in end-of-year date.
