First Choice agent wins agent Masterchef contest

First Choice travel agent Jacqueline Kerrigan has scooped the title Agent Masterchef 2012 after a hard-fought contest at Warner Leisure Hotels’ Littlecote House hotel.

Jacqueline, assistant retail manager of First Choice in Fulwood, Preston, cooked her winning dish – Cheesy Fowl Pig – in front of judges in the Berkshire hotel’s kitchen for the Travel Weekly Bourne Leisure Agent Masterchef competition.

“I’m delighted. My three favourite things are my job, cooking and singing and before I went along I said I would be gutted if I didn’t win!” said Jacqueline, who has won a meal for two at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s renowned River Cottage with an overnight stay at Cricket St Thomas Hotel in Somerset.

Runners-up were Jo Mills, of Thomson, High Wycombe, and Michael Needham, a Co-operative Personal Travel Advisor in Glasgow. All three finalists won Fearnley-Whittingstall’s original River Cottage cookbook.

Travel Weekly editor-in-chief Lucy Huxley, who was one of the judges, said: “Standards were higher than ever this year and Jacqueline is a deserving winner. We were blown away by the skills of all three finalists.”
