Cunard helping police with sexual assault investigation

Cunard has confirmed it is co-operating with police investigating allegations of sexual assault on children by a former crew member.

Wiltshire police confirmed it is investigating “historical allegations” and the employee, who lives in the UK, no longer works for the company.

No-one has been arrested or charged over the allegations, police said.

A Cunard spokesman said: “We are deeply shocked by the allegations as the safety and wellbeing of our customers is of paramount importance. A thorough police investigation is underway which we are supporting and co-operating with fully. We are working with NSPCC to provide support.”

No further details have been made public due to the on-going investigation by police.
