Travel agents who took part in a virtual walk from London to Lapland have completed their challenge a week early.
The event, run by The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel, aimed to lift homeworkers’ spirits during lockdown.
More than 100 agents took part and were split into teams and tasked with walking 5.5 million steps each, equivalent to 3,725km, in the areas where they live.
They logged their daily step count and posted pictures online during the challenge.
They had aimed to finish the walk by December 1. Instead they completed the 5,438,958 steps in 17 days, finishing last week, and held a virtual gluhwein evening to celebrate their achievement.
