The Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) has teamed up with Women 1st to launch a mentoring scheme for women in the travel industry.
The scheme will give junior female managers the chance to be mentored by senior women in the sector.
Karen Ramirez, chair of AWTE, said: “The training that AWTE members will receive will ensure effective mentoring for junior managers in our sector looking to progress their careers.
“Mentees will gain access to senior women who will work with them and share their own experiences and expertise.”
Dan Power, strategic manager at People 1st, said: “We often hear successful women describe, and champion, the role that mentors have played in their careers. This partnership will give those young women who want to build on their talent the opportunity to access the experience and influence of the inspirational women within AWTE.”
A launch event for the initiative will be held on March 13 at the Bleeding Heart Tavern in London.
