Crystal extends ‘relaxed’ booking policies

Crystal has extended its full balance payment policy to all 2021 voyages across its fleet of ocean, river, yacht and expedition ships.

The cruise line’s “temporarily relaxed” Crystal Confidence 3.0 policies allow passengers to pay the full balance 60 days before departure.

They can also cancel 60 days out with incurring a charge, but tiered levels of charges will be issued subsequently.

Passengers who pay the full balance 90 days prior to departure will save 2.5% on their cruise fare.

The final payment deadline was previously six months out from the sailing date, and the extended polices were originally due to run until the end of June only.

In a statement, Crystal said: “The new extension through the end of 2021 accommodates travellers who are eager to plan future voyages but are still cautious in committing resources to such journeys.”

Crystal will also continue to offer reduced deposits of 15% and waive the administration fee for all new bookings on voyages in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Normally, the line would require a 25% deposit to be paid by passengers.

Crystal has also extended its ‘No-Money-Down deposit’ offer until February 22, 2021, for all new and existing bookings for cruises until 2024. This means deposits will not be due on bookings made before February 22 next year.

A statement from the line said: “The safety and wellbeing of guests and crew members is Crystal’s utmost priority, and the fleet will resume service only when the company’s expert team and global health and government authorities indicate that it is safe to do so.”
