Celebrity Cruises’ ship Celebrity Constellation is to host wine tasting run by TV personality and wine connoisseur Oz Clarke.
The cruise line has teamed up with London wine venue Vinopolis to run the sessions on an ‘Immersive Europe’ wine cruise departing from Southampton on October 13.
The cruise calls at Le Havre, Le Verdon for Bordeaux, Bilbao, Vigo and Porto during the 2012 harvest season.
On-board activities include Champagne brunches, Bordeaux wine samplings, lessons in food and wine pairing, as well as a range of dedicated shore excursions visiting chateaux and vineyards to experience grape harvesting.
Vinopolis managing director Lucy Haines said: “We’ve worked closely with Oz Clarke during his masterclasses held in London, and matching this with the food and wine enjoyed by guests of Celebrity Cruises made perfect sense.”
Clarke said: “Not only am I looking forward to learning more about the impressive wine selections, bars and restaurants from Celebrity Cruises, I’m also keen to talk to fine food and wine fans, share my knowledge and bring to life some of the Vinopolis experience whilst having a great time onboard the ship.
