Tributes paid to Quartz Travel agent Jordan Sullivan

A body found in the River Ouse in York has been confirmed as missing travel agent Jordan Sullivan.

The nineteen-year-old, who worked at Quartz Travel, was last seen running naked towards the river at Naburn, near York, on February 14.

North Yorkshire police discovered the body from Naburn Marina on Wednesday.

Jordan’s mother issued a statement to the local newspaper paying tribute to her son. She said: “This is a very, very sad occasion. Jordan is my first born, my best friend, my confidant as I was his. He was his sister Georgie’s hero and Wesley said he was the best brother in the universe. For my mum, Maureen, Jordan’s Nanna, he was the sunshine in her life, as well as well as for Auntie Shell and Uncle Bri.

“Jordan was a friend to many, old and young. There are no words to describe him, really, truly an amazing individual, gorgeous inside and out. Jordan’s loving, amazingly compassionate and caring personality will live in the hearts of all those people he came into contact with.”

Paul Smith of Quartz Travel described Jordan as a “rising superstar” and said he and his team had been left “heartbroken” by the news.

Robin Searle, managing editor of Travel Weekly Group, paid his own tribute. “Jordan won a place on a VIP Fam Trip to Disneyland Paris with us in 2011, and was the undoubted star of the show,” he said.

“He combined confidence, humour and dedication to his work, and seemed destined for great things. Everyone at Travel Weekly extends their condolences to Jordan’s family and colleagues for their tragic loss.”
