Voyages of Discovery unveils 2013 programme

A free chauffeur-driven car service to the airport or port is being offered to passengers booking higher grade cabins with Voyages of Discovery next summer.

The line is giving 10% discounts and free insurance on bookings made by May 31.

Travel agents who are unable to book the Voyages of Discovery recommended insurance will be provided with a monetary contribution, the company said.

Ex-UK departures are being expanded with sailings from the Port of Tyne in August 2013 in addition to Harwich.

The 650-passenger ship Discovery, due to be extensively upgraded in December, will visit 15 new ports of call including Monaco, Husavik in Iceland and St Helier in Jersey.

New ship Voyager will depart from its new homeport of Portsmouth for a series of cruises to the Baltic and Norway and as well as two special interest itineraries.

Fly-cruises cover the Mediterranean and the opportunity to transit the small 70-foot wide Corinth Canal.

Besides the canal, Voyager will sail to 12 new ports of call including Dikili in Turkey and Ostende in Belgium.

Prices start at £799 per person based on an 11-day Iconic Iberia itinerary from Harwich on September 15, 2013.

Complimentary chauffeur service applies when booking a superior cabin (category F) or above on Discovery, or a Deluxe Cabin or above (Category 00) on Voyager.

The programme includes a British Isles and the Chelsea Flower Show cruise in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society and a French Connoisseur wine appreciation cruise with wine expert Jilly Goolden visiting Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Nantes and Rouen.
