The founder of gap year travel company i-to-i.com Deidre Bounds has been named as keynote speaker at this year’s Aito and Aito Agents overseas conference.
Speakers at the event in Funchal, Madeira, will cover topics such as the state of the economy, Atol reform, Flight Plus, how to successfully market your company online, and ‘change management’ principles.
Sponsored by the Portuguese National Tourist Office and the Madeira Promotion Bureau, the conference is to be held on June 14-17. Around 150 operators and 100 agents are expected to attend.
Bounds, who sold i-to-I for £20 million in 2007, said: “Creativity. Emotion. Honesty. Specialisation. Four essentials needed in all companies. ‘Trust’ and ‘Dream’ should be added as necessary ingredients for all of us who give people the time of their lives.
“I’m looking forward to sharing what the ‘Indies’ can do and what the PLCs can’t – that’s why I agreed to speak at Aito in Madeira.”
