Lowcost Holidays is poised to go live in five new countries taking its total number of source markets to 10.
It will open shortly in the US, Latin America, Denmark, Holland and Finland as the company pursues a strategy focusing on three main areas of Lowcostbeds, Lowcostholidays and partnerships.
Chief executive Paul Evans said: “We are currently doing some housekeeping to focus our business and build a strong balance sheet, so selling Resorthoppa to A2Btransfers for example, which was a good business but it wasn’t core.
“We can’t do everything. We have a £10million balance sheet and that’s allowing us to internationalise which is one of our strategic aims.”
Evans said the Lowcost Group was having a good year despite trading conditions. “We’re 40% up overall and on beds alone we’re 10% to15% up. Our international business has been helping us.”
He said the group now worked with 15,000 travel agents across Europe and was starting to gain recognition overseas.
“We have partnerships with Easyjet and Lastminute.com, and our newest one with Kuoni in Scandinavia – their Apollo business. This part of our business is really growing,” said.
