Travel Counsellors named in Sunday Times Track 200

Travel Counsellors, Key Travel and Jac Travel have been named in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200.


The list highlights UK firms with the fast growing overseas sales.


Travel Counsellors came in 56th position, with Key Travel at 59 and Jac Travel in 159th place.


The independent homeworking agency saw international sales growth of 61% a year from £5.9 million in 2009 to £15.4 million last year.


Managing director Steve Byrne said: “Our international expansion has ensured we have continued to flourish and remain extremely robust during tough economic times, with a business model that is centred on supporting our agents in all areas of their businesses so that they can provide exceptional customer service.”


He added: “Despite our international expansion at our heart we are still a family business and we believe it’s this family ethos that has been a major contributor to our success and has driven the care and attention we offer to our Travel Counsellors and their customers.”


Key Travel, which specialises in organising travel for non-profit organisations, achieved international sales growth of 59% a year from £5.7 million in 2009 to £14.4 million last year.


International sales at Jac Travel has grown by 28% a year from £49.6 million to £81.1 million in 2011.


Other travel-related companies listed included airline services provider Airline Services, air charter broker Chapman Freeborn, aircraft charterer Air Charter Services and ferry ticketing website Direct Ferries.
