The World Travel & Tourism Council has appointed former Manchester Airports Group marketing director Caroline Plant as business development director.
The global tourism body said Plant would be responsible for generating membership, sponsorship revenues and looking for new business opportunities.
She will report to WTTC’s president and chief executive, David Scowsill, and take up her new role on August 20.
Scowsill said: “I’m delighted to welcome Caroline on board. With her 15 years of extensive sales, marketing and commercial experience she will be a great addition to the team at WTTC, as we drive out the message of travel and tourism’s social and economic importance to more people in more parts of the world.”
While at Manchester airport, Plant also served in an interim position as aviation director.
Previous to that she served as deputy commercial director for the Regional Airports Division within MAG, head of marketing for Monarch Group flight-only operator Avro and head of corporate sales for Virgin Atlantic.
