THE rapid expansion of Airtours’ German partner FTi has prompted the operator to invest £9.4m in a further 155 travel agencies to boost distribution.
It brings FTi’s number of owned, franchised and licensed agencies in Germany to 783.
FTi, German’s fourth largest operator, acquired the agencies from the Real Group, part of Germany’s largest retailer, Metro.
Sales of package holidays through the chain amounted to £100m in the year to December 31.
