TRAVEL technology consultancy Genesys will launch the first on-line guide to UK travel Internet sites next month.
The new site, called infotravel.co.uk, allows users to click on a travel category they are interested in and to view a list of links to relevant Web sites.
Twelve categories are covered including airports, bed and breakfast, car rental, cruises, hotels, resorts, skiing, tour operators and villas.
Genesys senior partner Paul Richer said his aim is for the site to list every travel Web site that could be of value to UK travellers.
He said: “There is nowhere on the World Wide Web where consumers can quickly find sites that are specifically relevant to UK travellers.
“The large US-based search engines have become too confusing and other sites that purport to provide links to UK travel sites do not cover the entire industry.
“This Internet site is designed to be very fast, straightforward and, above all, easy to use.
“It will also be a very comprehensive listing.”
Travel companies who want to add their site address to the directory can do so by filling in a form on the site.
There is no charge for a travel company to list their details.
