The Travel Network Group is to move all of its managed services agents trading under the Worldchoice Plus brand out of Abta.

The group said the 25 members will switch to TTA membership in order to offer 100% financial protection.

Gary Lewis, group managing director of The Travel Network Group, said: “Members have been individually consulted and are supportive of this initiative as it offers clarity to consumers and an opportunity to differentiate themselves in their local marketplace.”

The agents will remain part of Worldchoice and operate using the TTA’s trust account.

They will also be able to apply for an Atol under the TTA franchise scheme with the CAA or use the options provided to members under the group’s own Atol.

“This move continues to confirm that we are the most relevant consortium in the UK today offering our members different models of membership to suit their ever-changing needs,” said Lewis.

“Worldchoice agents have been requesting a non-Abta model since the merger with TTA, and we have created this scheme in response to their feedback.”

New applicants to the Worldchoice managed agency scheme are now being accepted onto the new model. The company expects to complete the transfer of existing members by November.
