Kuoni to urge agent bookings in peak TV campaign

Kuoni’s first dedicated television advertisements are set to go live on Boxing Day with a call to action to travel agents.


The operator has produced two different versions of the television advertisement to air on mainstream commercial TV stations until January 19, 2013.


Designed by Designate, the series of 30-second ads will focus on honeymoons and special occasions such as birthdays, and were filmed in the Maldives and Kenya respectively. They aim to highlight the operator’s expertise and attention to detail.


At the end of the ads, viewers are encouraged to book through their travel agent.


Managing director Derek Jones (pictured) said: “Television helps us to portray those heart-stirring emotions we feel when in an amazing location overseas, be it celebrating the start of married life together or any special occasion in your life.


“We can’t wait for audiences up and down the country to tune in and be moved to travel.”


The operator launched a dedicated trade support team at its Dorking call centre this month and is no longer taking agent bookings through its home-based staff, despite criticism from some agents.
