More than 56,000 passengers are expected to use Bristol airport over the run in to Christmas.
The numbers are forecast over four days from Friday which also coincides with the start of the main ski season.
Flights are available to Austria, Bulgaria, France, Italy and Switzerland while the Canary Islands is the most popular destination for winter sun.
Eleven flights – six arrivals and five departures – are scheduled for Christmas Day covering Paris, Amsterdam, Sharm el Sheikh and the Canaries.
Airport director Shaun Browne said: “December is always a busy month, with people taking advantage of the holidays to have a well-earned break or the opportunity to get together with friends and family.
“Winter sun destinations are also proving popular as passengers across the southwest and Wales wish to get away from the winter weather.”
