A man has been charged with robberies at four travel agencies after being arrested as he boarded a flight from Gatwick to Portugal.
The 20-year-old from south London was detained by police in the early hours of December 31.
He has been charged with four counts of robbery and four counts of possessing a firearm while committing an offence.
The alleged offences took place in London, Kent and Sussex with the theft of currency and travellers’ cheques.
Travel agents in Barnet, north London, Sandwich and Hythe in Kent, and Hove in East Sussex were targeted during December, the BBC reported.
