The trade fair division of the UK arm of German operator firm Dertour has been taken over by Baxter Hoare Travel.
The deal for an undisclosed sum follows the acquisition of Holborn Travel and Pressplan Travel which were incorporated into the company in the past two years.
An unspecified number of Dertour trade fair personnel will be retained by Baxter Hoare and will relocate to its offices in London Bridge.
Baxter Hoare already has a trade fair client portfolio of more than 50 events around the world.
Managing director Adam White said: “Following the withdrawal of Dertour from the UK in December there was a fantastic opportunity for Baxter Hoare to take on the business of our main competitor in the area of travel management for trade fairs.
‘The increased volume of business means we will be able to offer even better rates, more booking options and a wider choice of accommodation.“Our services cover both the UK and international events and we arrange the travel, accommodation and hospitality for event organisers, exhibitors and delegates from all over the world.”
Trade fairs this year range from Arab Health, the world’s largest healthcare exhibition and medical congress in the Middle East, to K2013, the leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry being held in Dusseldorf, and Anuga, the world’s leading food fair for retail trade and the food service and catering market being held in Cologne.
