Heathrow services return to normal as snowy weather subsides

Flights at Heathrow finally returned to normal yesterday after almost a week of cancellations.

But there are forecasts of further snow for parts of the UK later today, likely to cause further transport disruption.

Eurocontrol said that flying conditions were “generally OK” this morning but said there was snow at Munich airport and more is forecast across the UK later.

EasyJet warned that airports across northern and central Europe as well as in the UK may continue to experience some disruption today due to the current ice and snow conditions.

A strike by security staff at Cologne and Dusseldorf airports was continuing today.

“This is likely to increase your time through the security at the airport. We therefore advise you to allow extra time for your journey,” easyJet said.

Air Berlin warned of disruption to flights from both German airports due to the industrial action and urged passengers to check the status of their flights.
