Nigel Jenkins steps down as chairman of Travelzest

Nigel Jenkins (pictured) is stepping down as non-executive chairman of online travel group Travelzest.

Jenkins, who is to remain on the board as a non-executive director, is replaced by Chris Howell, chairman of golf, beach and leisure resorts company Oceanico Group.

Howell is also non-executive director and chairman of UK-based network telephony solutions provider Sigma Voice Solutions.

Jenkins said: “We are delighted that Chris is joining the board as its chairman. He has a wealth of relevant experience and will be a valuable addition to the group for its next period of growth.”

Howell said: “I look forward to an exciting future for the group and will work with the rest of the board to continue to build on the existing initiatives and grow shareholder value.”

Travelzest runs Canadian travel companies itravel2000 and luxury cruise agency, The Cruise Professionals.

It has been drastically scaling back operations in the UK where it ran a number of niche tour operators including naturist specialist Peng Travel, Tapestry Holidays, Captivating Cuba and Best of Morocco.
