Center Parcs holiday village on schedule despite winter ‘challenges’

Construction of Center Parcs’ £250 million new holiday village in Bedfordshire remains on schedule to open in spring 2014 despite “challenges” posed by bad winter weather.

Woburn Forest will be the holiday park company’s fifth UK village featuring 625 forest lodges, a 75-room hotel and spa.

Center Parcs UK managing director Martin Dalby said: “Although we’ve been hit with snow, wind and rain over the last few months, the team has worked hard to ensure we’re on track to open to guests in spring 2014.

“It hasn’t come without its challenges but with just over a year to go, the village is really starting to take shape.”

Other facilities will include six spa suites and two leisure buildings including indoor sports facilities, a ‘subtropical swimming paradise,’ restaurants and shops.

The site will also include outdoor sports and leisure facilities and a lake. Bookings are due to open this summer.
