A two-week roadshow around universities to educate students about Abta and the benefits of booking with a member of the association kicked off yesterday (Monday).
More than 17,000 students are expected to be reached across seven campuses – Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Warwick, Hertfordshire and Southampton.
The activity is part of a broader “Look for the Logo” campaign, which aims to educate consumers about the benefits of booking with an Abta member.
A mobile stand includes a ‘tiki-bar’ where students can find out more about the travel association, enter competitions and meet members including Tucan Travel, STA Travel, eufest, the Travel Bureau and 2wentys.
The roadshow follows a university summer tour last year which reached more than 10,000 students with events at Portsmouth, Nottingham and Warwick universities.
Head of communications Victoria Bacon said: “The roadshows are a great opportunity for both Abta and our members to meet students face-to-face and speak to them about who we are and what we have to offer.
“We know from our university events last year that there was strong appetite from the students to engage with us and we’re looking forward to building on that this year.”
