Princess Cruises has announced the schedule of events taking place this June in Southampton as part of Royal Princess’ inaugural celebrations.
Royal Princess will arrive at Ocean Cruise Terminal in Southampton on June 7 and will depart on her maiden voyage on June 16, with the highlight being the naming celebrations on June 12-13.
More than 10,000 past passengers and nearly 2,000 travel agents will be invited to visit the ship to get an exclusive look at the new features and Princess signature features on board.
Paul Ludlow, Princess Cruises UK director, said: “We are delighted that Royal Princess will have her inauguration here in Southampton.
“We have a number of exciting events planned to ensure that our UK past passengers and travel agents are amongst the first to experience all Royal Princess has to offer.
“This opportunity for British passengers to see Royal Princess highlights the growing popularity of Princess Cruises in the UK and the importance of this country to the Princess Cruises brand.
“As befits a launch of this stature, we are currently finalising plans for the naming to ensure that the celebration captures the spirit of the occasion. I look forward to sharing more details soon.”
UK passengers also have an opportunity to get a taste of the new ship before the official maiden voyage. On June 9 and June 14, Royal Princess will sail roundtrip from Southampton on two two-night preview cruises featuring a call in St Peter Port, Guernsey. These cruises are available to book now.
