Starhotels is promising to reach high green philosophy heights with its refurbishment of the Michelangelo in Rome.
The hotel is undergoing a complete renovation in time for a re-launch this spring.
It will remain classic in style with 179 rooms and suites but will boast cutting-edge eco-friendly policies and low energy consumption technology.
The walls of the refurbished hotel will be covered with Roman scenes of iconic piazzas and monuments with designs by G.B. Piranesi, an 18th century Italian artist renowned for his historical etchings.
Close to the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel, its location is described as the ideal start point for exploring this area of Rome.
