John Wimbleton joins Scott Dunn as vice chair

A new role has been created for former Tui managing director of specialist business John Wimbleton at Scott Dunn Travel.

Wimbleton has been appointed the new vice chair of the tour operator as the company makes its “next steps in growth and development”.

He left Tui Travel at the end of last year after 22 years with the business. At the time of his departure he said he was leaving the company for a “well-earned break”.

A spokesman for Scott Dunn Travel told Travel Weekly that Wimbleton’s appointment was for a newly created position.

He also said Clive Beharrell, who has been chairman for five years, was stepping down from his position but would remain a stakeholder.

Andrew Dunn, founder of the company, will now take on the role of chair.

The spokesman said: “Andrew and John will work together in the next steps in growth and development for the business.

“The business is doing extremely well, with forward bookings for this year significantly higher than last year.

“It (the company) is in a very strong position right now, with a very strong management team.

“Clive, who has been a great chairman, will continue as stakeholder.”
