n travel inn to create real-time internet site



Travel Inn is to create an Internet site as the latest move in its £300m expansion plan, following its brand launch in April. Travel Inn says it polled 2,500 people to see what they would want from such a site, and created it accordingly. It will be bookable from December and will have real-time room availability.



n consortium takes on middle east interests



Golden Tulip Worldwide is stepping into the Middle East arena by taking over the marketing contracts for Dalma Suites in Abu Dhabi, United ArabEmirates, and King’s Way in Wadi Mousa, Jordan.



n new resort to open in the grenadines



A new resort in St Vincent and The Grenadines, The Carenage Bay Beach and Golf Club on Canouan, is due to open in November this year. The resort can be booked through Caribbean Escapes and rates start at £1,478 per person for seven nights including scheduled flights with British Airways and onward flights to Canouan.



n hilton expands into new zealand



Hilton Group is expanding its presence in the South Pacific with the opening of its first hotel in New Zealand. The 167-room Hilton Auckland is presently under construction and is scheduled to open in July 2000.



n p&o spends £6.4m on lizard island refit



P&O Australian Resorts plans to spend £6.4m on the refurbishment of its latest island resort acquisition Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef in north Queensland. The company acquired the resort sub-lease from Qantas in May. The resort will be closed from January to July next year while the building work is being



carried out.
