n BAlooks to expand phoenix codesharing



BritishAirways has asked the US Department of Transportation for rights to extend codeshares from Phoenix. From September 1, BA wants to share flights with America West to Salt Lake City and Reno and with Mesa Airlines to SantaBarbara, Fresno, Palm Springs and Monterey.



n Exeter airport plans to run eclipse flights



Exeter Airport has teamed up with BAC Express to offer flights to see the eclipse on Wednesday. Seats on a Shorts 360 cost £150. Meanwhile, British Airways subsidiary Brymon Airways is replacing a132-seat Boeing 737 with a 147-seater version of the aircraft on Newquay-Gatwick flights this Thursday and Friday to meet demand for passengers returning from watching the eclipse.



n sabena boosts seats with airbus addition



Sabena has started replacing smaller Boeing 737s with larger Airbus A319s on the Manchester-Brussels route. One of the five daily flights is now operated with the A319, giving up to 156 seats compared with 126 seats.



n New York airport agency opens in london



The agency which owns and manages New York’s three main airports – JFK, Newark and LaGuardia – has opened a London office. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa Peter Zantal said the new Stratford Place office underlines a commitment to improving service for UKcustomers.



n British regional airlines adds BAE-146



British Regional Airlines, has increased capacity on its daily Manchester-Jersey route by replacing an ATP turboprop with 100-seater BAe-146 jet. The upgrade runs until September 27 and gives the airline an extra 116 seats a week.
