Princess Cruises cancels Egypt calls

Princess Cruises has cancelled upcoming calls in Egypt following recent unrest.

Passengers on Pacific Princess and Dawn Princess (pictured) have had their itineraries changed following advice issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The Holy Land Cruise onboard Pacific Princess is no longer calling in Alexandria today or tomorrow and instead the route has been changed to Santorini and Corfu.

Dawn Princess’s Round Europe Cruise has also been changed and will no longer call at Safaga on August 7, Alexandria on August 10 and Sharm El Sheikh on September 14. Instead the ship will call at Ashdod, Israel and Crete.

Princess Cruises said: “The Princess Security Department remains in close contact with the relevant authorities and continues to monitor political unrest in Egypt.”

Luxury cruise line Seabourn recently altered the itineraries of three scheduled October sailings in Egypt.
