Dixons Travel opens concept store at Gatwick airport

The first in a series of new concept stores has been unveiled by Dixons Retail at Gatwick.

The Dixons Travel outlet in the south terminal is seen as a blueprint for other store designs in the electrical retailer’s portfolio.

Digital signage is used to display the latest products across 1,466 square feet of space.

The store will house 1,100 products while storage space is available for customers’ luggage.

Ten-inch tablet ‘look books’ allow customers to gain more information on products and associated offers.

Hands-on tech advice and repairs will be available at a ‘Knowhow’ section.

Managing director Jeremy Fennell said: “This is the store of the future for us. We are focused on delivering a better range and store experience for travel customers, including a focus on portable items, accessories and other flight-ready products.”

Travellers will be sent a text message upon arrival at the airport offering a £10 off £100 spend voucher at the shop.
