Premier Inn grew total sales by 12.1% in the six months to mid-August.
Revenue per available room (revpar) was up by by 2.3% and total room nights sold by 10.7% to 7.2 million over the same period last year.
The UK’s largest budget chain also saw sales rise by 11.5% in the three months to August 15, parent company Whitbread reported this morning.
Total revpar in the quarter was up by 3% to £50.44.
Sales for hotels in London grew by 16.1%, while those in the regions saw growth of 10.4% in the period.
Capacity in the London area was up by almost 12%, with revpar up by 3.1% with the help of a higher proportion of rooms in the centre of the city.
Chief executive Andy Harrison said: “So far this year Premier Inn has grown total sales by 12.1%, like-for-like sales by 2.9% and added 1,270 new rooms, with especially strong growth in London, where total sales were up 17.7%.”
The company, which also runs the Costa coffee chain and restaurants, achieved total sales growth of 10.8% for the 11 weeks to August 15 and like-for-like sales growth of 2.1%.
