Zanzibar will have a new boutique resort early next year when Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa opens.
Located on the beachfront of Paje, the hotel has 11 villas that all have pools, an outdoor bath, 300 square metres of private outdoor space and a view of the beach.
The buildings were designed by Neil Rocher to ensure maximum privacy for guests while giving them all a view.
All check-in formalities will be completed in villas and guest can have meals served there too with a private butler also included in the cost of a room.
Guests can also eat at the fine dining restaurant, drink at the bar or use the large communal pool.
The Spa is in a tropical garden with a waterfall and has two massage rooms, a steam room and sauna, and a relaxation area.
Many treatments use local ingredients such as seaweed and cloves.
Paje is considered one of the world’s best spots for kite surfing so the hotel has a school.
It also has a wind turbine and solar panels as well as growing its own fruit and vegetables in a bid to be sustainable.
Villas cost from $500 a night.
