Clia e-learning platform sees 60% rise in participation

Almost 5,000 travel agents are now active on the Clia UK & Ireland e-learning platform following a 60% rise in participation.

A further seven destination learning modules are being added to the programme this week.

UK and Ireland director Andy Harmer said: “We have seen a rapid increase in the number of travel agents registering to use the Learning Academy.

“This rise is due to a number of reasons including our City & Guilds accreditation; we run the only travel agent programme currently to receive this recognition.

“Clia-accredited agents also stand out to potential customers as being cruise experts, so providing an important competitive advantage.”

He added: “Destination remains the number one reason cited by consumers when considering a cruise holiday.

“To ensure Clia-accredited agents are fully equipped to respond to destination queries, we are launching seven new modules covering the world’s popular and emerging cruising regions.”

The new e-learning courses being launched cover:

  • Cruising Alaska

  • Cruising the Arctic and the Antarctic

  • Cruising the Atlantic Islands

  • Cruising the Indian Ocean

  • Cruising the Middle East

  • Cruising on the Nile

  • Transatlantic Cruising
