The Midcounties Co-operative and Barrhead Travel have selected Affordable Car Hire as exclusive provider following a six-way pitch.
The selection of the car rental broker followed a competitive tender involving six major suppliers.
Affordable will provide car hire to more than 150 home workers within The Midcounties Co-operative and Barrhead Travel network in addition to agency branches.
Chief executive Angela Day said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been appointed on an exclusive basis by Midcounties Co-operative and Barrhead Travel in Scotland which represents a major coup for our business.
“We have worked very hard over a long period to secure this agreement and now look forward to developing what I am sure will be a dynamic and exciting partnership.”
Julie Kendrick, head of commercial and marketing at Midcounties Co-operative, said: “Affordable has the right infrastructure in place and we are confident they are the best partners to help us sell more car hire which represents a major opportunity for us to build add on revenues.
“As well as providing attractive commercial terms, we were impressed with Affordable’s administrative and sales back up, along with the marketing and training support they are able to offer.”
The latest win for Affordable follows on a claimed 38% increase in agency sales compared with the same period last year.
