The number of people booking high value holidays is on the rise, with luxury tour operators feeling the benefit.
The number of people booking holidays costing £100,000 or more has doubled in the past year, the Sunday Times reported.
One family paid £706,400 for a three-week ski trip to Verbier, rated as the most expensive holiday sold in the past 12 months.
Other travel companies are also benefitting from a boost in high-end holiday sales.
David Hope, an independent analyst for Travel Monitor, which is supplied with weekly data from 3,000 UK travel agents, said: “Just under 1.6 million people have already booked to go on holiday next summer.
“While the market overall is down 2%, we are seeing that holidays over £7,000 per person are up by 13% and holidays at more than £10,000 per person are up 5%.”
