Comment: James Corden falls for the travel industry

One of the real perks of being editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly is having the chance to work alongside some incredible hosts at the Globe Travel Awards.

And they don’t come much better than James Corden, who not only wowed the audience from the stage but also took the time to mingle with guests in the Grosvenor House hotel’s Great Room, even taking selfies with our very own Cover Stars and hundreds of other guests.

But the thing that really stood out for me was a comment James made on stage as the evening drew to a close.

“I do a few of these every year, but I can honestly say I’ve never enjoyed one as much as this,” he said.

“Too many industries take themselves too seriously, but you have been fantastic.”

In a nutshell he had summed up everything that’s good about the travel industry – as a succession of amazing companies came up to accept their awards and the rest of the room revelled in the air of celebration.

For Travel Weekly, there was another reason to celebrate on the night as we unveiled Travel Weekly On the Move.
