Barrhead Travel is creating 80 positions in Scotland as part of a new phase of expansion.
The UK’s largest independent travel group plans to invest more than £1.5 million to create a mix of new full and part-time contracts across its network of Scottish outlets.
The Scottish west coast will gain 50 new jobs – with the company’s Glasgow headquarters gaining the majority of the new roles within sales, marketing, IT and HR.
Edinburgh and the east coast will gain 20 new jobs, while its stores in the north, including Aberdeen, will welcome 10 new staff.
The company currently employs 750 staff across the UK.
Chief executive Sharon Munro (pictured) said: “Business growth and reinvestment continues to be front of mind for us. Over the years we’ve evolved our offering to meet the needs of the customer and this next stage in our growth plan will keep us ahead of the competition once again.
“Being in a financially stable position to create 80 new jobs across the country, given the economy in recent years, is something we’re immensely proud of.
“We’re looking for experienced travel agents, call centre staff, business development executives and foreign exchange cashiers to start immediately.
“Our objective is to consistently work with the best people to deliver an unparalleled travel offering. The team is a huge part of who we are and we’ve built a very strong network of what we believe to be the best people in the industry.”
