Disney Cruise Line to return to UK

Disney Cruise Line is returning to the UK next summer and is to run its first sailings to Norway.

The newly refurbished ship Disney Magic, operating Mediterranean fly-cruises this summer, will offer departures from Dover to the Baltic Sea.

The new itineraries mark the return of Disney Cruise Line to ex-UK departures, last featured in 2010.

The ship will operate two 12-night northern Europe cruises from Dover on July 20 and 22 with ports of all including Copenhagen, Warnemunde in Germany, Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersburg and Tallinn in Estonia.

The cruises go on sale tomorrow (Thursday) when prices in sterling are due to be published. Lead-in rates in dollars start at $2,844 per person.

Disney Magic will also be deployed from Copenhagen to run seven and nine-night sailings to the Norwegian fjords, and on an 11-night itinerary to Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

The line said the Norwegian fjords served as the inspiration and backdrop for Disney’s animated film ‘Frozen’.

The ship will then re-position to Barcelona in August 2015 for a series of Mediterranean fly-cruises.

The line’s 2015 programme also includes Alaska cruises from Vancouver on Disney Wonder and Caribbean and Bahamas sailings from Miami and Port Canaveral
