STA Travel teams up with Jack Wills to find rising stars

STA Travel is joining forces with British fashion brand Jack Wills to launch a national search for eight rising stars who are ‘doing the extraordinary’.

The ‘Young Brits’ competition seeks to provide a voice to 16 to 25 year olds who have excelled in the areas of creativity, enterprise, innovation or endurance.

The winners will receive an opportunity to showcase their talent to a broad audience, receive professional mentoring and prizes, including round the world flights.

Anyone in the age range can enter the contest by providing details about how they have achieved within their specific category via an online application.

The final entrants will be judged by a panel of industry leaders covering the four categories.

Entries close on May 15 with the winners announced in September. Each of the eight winners (two per category) will be rewarded with £5,000, professional mentoring from the judges, a feature in a Jack Wills campaign, a selection of Jack Wills products and category prizes.

STA Travel chief executive John Constable will work alongside travel writer and guidebook author Paul Clammer to judge entries to the endurance category. They will be looking for those who have excelled in sport or have done something particularly adventurous on their travels.

Constable said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Young Brits programme as I believe that it’s crucial for new talent from all walks of life to have a stage, and the Young Brits programme provides that stage. If we celebrate innovation, it will flourish.

“I’ll be looking for someone with a bold vision, who has taken an educated risk to deliver something truly spectacular. If they’ve led a team and their achievement has benefited others, then even better.

“This is a truly excellent chance to propel yourself to the top of the pack, build your CV and access unique mentoring sessions where you can showcase your potential even further.”
