Travel Republic’s chief executive Paul Furner is to leave the company tomorrow to “explore new opportunities”.
Chris Roche, chief commercial officer, will also be leaving the business at the end of the summer. The company said the two departures were unrelated.
Furner took on the role of chief executive when Kane Pirie stepped down last year.
Ian Simmonds, previously chief financial officer, will become acting chief executive and it is understood further appointments will be made in coming months.
Furner said: “I am very proud of everything that Travel Republic has achieved since we started in 2003. To see it grow from the very first booking to a business which is targeting over £700 million turnover this financial year has been an incredible experience.
“I will really miss working with the amazing group of people who work for the company and have no doubt they will go on to enjoy even greater success in the future.”
Travel Republic was acquired by dnata, a subsidiary of the Emirates Group, in December 2011.
