Barrhead Travel has seen cruise sales increase by 67% year on year and attributes the growth to two in-store events.
Held at its Oswald Street store in Glasgow, the events were described by Barrhead as “the firm’s most successful to date” with attendance and sales both up on last year.
More than 450 people visited the store to attend the showcase days, held in April and May.
Fourteen cruise partners attended the event and one-off deals and offers were available on the day.
Sharon Munro, chief executive, said: “This year’s cruise events have been our most successful yet, with a 67% increase overall in the number of customers booking cruise holidays compared to last year.
“People are learning more about the deals on offer and the flexibility in terms of departure points and it’s becoming a very viable option for many holidaymakers.
“We hope that this enthusiasm for crusies continues through this year and beyond. The popularity will allow us to grow and develop our cruise offering and provide holidaymakers with an even greater variety of packages and options.”
