Eurotunnel posts axed

AROUND 120 jobs are expected to go at Eurotunnel after BAA took over the running of its duty-free operations at Folkestone.

The airport operator has admitted jobs will go following the abolition of duty-free within the European Union but has refused to comment on how many positions are under threat.

The operator is now in consultation with around 250 staff at Folkestone. The process is expected to be completed by October 12. It says it will offer staff transfers within BAA and Eurotunnel or offer voluntary redundancies.
