Hogg Robinson Group is to create an unspecified number of new jobs by opening a travel office in Great Yarmouth in September.
The Norfolk premises will provide business travel services including the group’s HRG Logistics division which serves companies operating in the marine, offshore and energy and workforce travel sectors.
HRG chief executive David Radcliffe said: “I am delighted that HRG is opening a new office in the UK. We continue to thrive in a competitive industry and that is testament to our staff who maintain our renowned high standards of service.
“HRG will be strategically well placed to serve the growing number of energy firms using the Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich area as their base for worldwide operations”.
Ian Windsor, HRG’s managing director Europe North, said the oil and gas sector had become an important development area for HRG and “like Aberdeen, this area has been identified as a key energy centre”.
He added: “We have a long established history of ensuring that whenever we invest in a new location we become one of the best employers in the region, offering good career prospects, and that we show our commitment to the area by immersing ourselves in the local community.
“We have great technology, but even the best technology needs great people to help give a service which exceeds our customers’ highest expectations.”
Great Yarmouth Borough Council leader Trevor Wainwright said: “It is really good news for the Great Yarmouth borough and the region that international companies such as HRG are choosing to invest here and create new jobs.”
