Kew Green Holdings acquires 19 Holiday Inns

Kew Green Holdings has expanded its portfolio to more than 50 hotels by acquiring 19 Holiday Inns across the UK for an undisclosed sum.

They will be added to 38 existing Holiday Inns, making the company InterContinental Hotels Group’s largest Holiday Inn franchise partner in Europe.

The hotels, located in prominent cities and commercial centres, will continue to trade as Holiday Inn hotels under a new franchise agreement and will all undergo extensive refurbishment over the next few years.

Kew Green now employs more than 3,600 staff across its estate.

Chief executive Paul Johnson said: “This is an exciting acquisition for us which will enlarge our portfolio to 53 hotels with almost 6,700 bedrooms in total. These new hotels will all benefit from a comprehensive refurbishment programme.

“We have an excellent talent pool in our group and this acquisition will provide further career development opportunities for all our employees, both in the hotels and the central support team’

Business development director Nick O’Keeffe added: “We remain focused on further opportunities to strategically grow the company through acquisitions and new management contracts across the UK.”
